This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced, compassionate nurse to lead a highly motivated and dynamic specialist palliative care nursing team in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB)

The Specialist Palliative Care Directorate in ABUHB is currently undergoing some exciting changes and developments, in partnership with our third sector providers. We are now looking for an experienced nurse to lead a well-established and innovative palliative care nursing team.

We would welcome a lead nurse who is visionary with a passion for palliative and end of life care who cares about making a difference to the quality of life for patients with life limiting illness and keeping patients at the heart of all you do.

Excellent leadership skills are key to this roll to enable you to influence practice and service development . You will also require outstanding communication skills as you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.

We are looking for someone who would engage effectively with your nursing team, the wider multi-disciplinary team and key stakeholders in order to deliver palliative care services and to build on the progress already made to make further improvements.

This opportunity is particularly exciting as it provides an opportunity to join the team on the journey of progressing the Specialist Palliative Care Service Model for clinical futures in ABUHB in line with the opening of the new Grange University Hospital.  Working in a team of clinical nurse specialists, palliative care consultants, healthcare support workers/complimentary therapists and AHPs, you would have the unique opportunity to further your career within the specialty of palliative care and you would be contributing to the development and delivery of this vital innovative service.

This role will cover teams within the new Grange University Hospital, Nevill Hall Hospital, Royal Gwent Hospital and Ysbyty Ystard Fawr.

If you would like to be part of developing palliative care services at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, this could be the role for you.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
