We are looking to appoint an experienced occupational therapist with a range of occupationally focussed assessment and treatment skills to take up this post that will support people with their rehabilitation following a stroke.
The post holder will be based at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ystrad Mynach with the expectation for the post holder to provide clinical cover in the hyper-acute/acute stroke unit based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport on a rotational basis.
The post holder will be expected to join a rota to deliver weekend therapy cover to the hyper-acute/acute stroke unit.
Postgraduate experience of working with people who have had a stroke is essential as is the ability to work flexibly and proactively to deliver a prompt and clinically effective service. You should be a creative problem solver and demonstrate a willingness to develop and pilot new ideas. You will possess good organisational skills related to yourself and supporting the workload management of the team.
We provide all of our staff with the opportunity to work in an occupational therapy service that is developing to meet the needs of the people that we serve and provide innovative and effective ways of delivering occupational therapy intervention. We support all staff with professional supervision and regular development reviews. The successful applicant will be supported to develop more specialist and advanced clinical and leadership skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
