We currently have four hospitals providing theatre services in Cwmbran (Grange University Hospital), Newport (Royal Gwent Hospital), Abergavenny (Nevill Hall Hospital) and Ystrad Mynach (Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr).  We have 24 hour emergency and trauma services plus major elective sessions at our newest hospital in the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran which opened in November 2020 and at our other hospitals offer elective services in the specialties of Colorectal, Upper GI, Gynaecology, ENT, Max Fax, Orthopaedic and Urology Surgery.  We are a supportive, friendly department which is strongly centered on team work and patient care.

There are opportunities for practitioners to rotate through our departments to gain experience and we also provide cross cover to other sites.  Newly appointed candidates would be able to sample all theatre services in Aneurin Bevan before deciding the area that you would prefer to specialise in and we will offer you a position in a specialty where you would be able to consolidate your experience.

The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to increase their clinical skills to be able to provide and promote high standards of patient care within our operating theatres. We have dedicated Practice Educators who will work with you to ensure that you can access training and to allow you to develop as a practitioner. We would welcome applications from newly qualified practitioners who are seeking to build a career pathway in theatre services.
