Bank Operating Department Practitioner/Anaesthetic Nurse
If you are a registered Operating Dept Practitioner/Anaesthetic Nurse, excellent opportunities have arisen for you to join our resource bank to work within our fast pace theatre teams across our health board sites, supporting high standards of patient care within innovative surroundings.
The theatre directorate is responsible for running 33 operating theatres based on four acute sites. The Royal Gwent Hospital and St. Woolos Hospitals are in the city centre of Newport; Nevill Hall Hospital is in the rural town of Abergavenny and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr is in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly. Our larger sites perform a variety of surgical procedures in a wide variety of specialities such as:
• Orthopaedic Elective and Emergency
• General Surgery Elective and Emergency
• Paeds elective and emergency
• ENT elective
• Gynae Emergency
• CEPOD (24 hour cover)
Skills can also be employed in other areas such as critical care, x-ray, our busy A&E and the transferring of critically ill patients.
We operate a 7 day service, including the requirement to work occasional weekends and support an on call rota. We are looking for skilled people that have a commitment to team working. Our ODP/ANs are encouraged to participate in training and development and are part of exciting courses such as ILS, simulations and CICO, to name just a few, which are encouraged as part of your induction.
Is this you?
• Family or other commitments prevent you working full time or to a set work pattern?
