Job overview

We are seeking to employ two  Health Visitors, to work within the Early Years Health Visiting team in  Torfaen .

The post holders will be based and work within a team of Health Visitors and skill-mix staff, to deliver the health Child Wales Programme to all preschool children. 

The successful candidate will have the relevant qualification, professionalism and clinical skills necessary to work on their own initiative as well as working effectively in partnership with parents/carers and other services including Flying Start, Family First, Primary Care, Children Services, School Nursing and voluntary organisations. 

Main duties of the job

The Health Visitor contributes to the development of new projects and policies within the health visiting service and is involved in the research, implementation and evaluation of evidence based practice. The post holder will be responsible for providing universal, enhanced, and intensive Health Visiting services to children and families from all cultural diversities on their case load in line with the Healthy Child Wales Programme. Health Visitors work as a team across locally defined areas and support the service across Gwent, to provide a safe service for all preschool children and their families.
