Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Band 7 - ABUHB Community Huntington’s Team
Part Time: 22.5 hours per week.
Are you an innovative practitioner looking to extend your skills? Are you able to work as an autonomous specialist clinician but also as a core Team member?
We will shortly be having a vacancy for a Band 7 Speech and Language therapist in our Multi –Disciplinary Community HD Team. The Team provide specialist assessments and interventions to clients and family members affected by HD across the ABUHB catchment area. We work within the community, primarily seeing people in their own homes, working with clients and their families but also working with clients and staff in Nursing Homes, Group Homes, and inpatient facilities as required.
The HD Team is based in Mamhilad, and comprises, a Clinical Psychologist, two Clinical Nurse Specialists, an Advanced Specialist Physiotherapist, an Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist, an Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and administrative support. All but the administrative staff work part-time.
It is not necessary for applicants to have worked extensively with HD clients but experience in long-term conditions and mental health may be helpful.
Professional support from the wider Speech and Language therapy service in ABUHB is provided.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
