Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is recruiting staff to its busy Information Governance Unit. An experienced and knowledgeable person is required to help it implement requirements of the GDPR, Data Protection Act and the various IG standards. This role is essential for the Health Board to maintain an adequate assurance level and to meet legal obligations and standards, improve patient safety and reduce risk.
As part of the IG team the post holder will manage aspects of a comprehensive information governance framework and ensure ABUHB is complying with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines and to act as a contact point for internal and external partners.
The post holder will provide IG expertise identifying best practice and making recommendations for local implementation and will be responsible for ensuring staff across the Health Board are familiar with the concepts of IG. There will be a link with information quality assurance, health records management, ICT and health informatics systems development programmes.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within data protection and information risk field and have working knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection Act etc.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as this role will demand working with various sets of professionals across the Health Service. Being able to explain simply the various standards and legislative requirements to a broad audience is essential.
The role will require travel across the Health Board geographical area and further afield.
Support will be provided to enhance career including appropriate qualifications and skill set.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
