THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right and credible individual to manage the regional programme of the Welsh Community Care Information System (WCCIS) across the South East Wales Region, which consists of 5 County Borough Councils and one Health Board. This programme will replace a range of current electronic and papers based systems providing a comprehensive and integrated case management system for Health and Social Care.
You must have strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage a change management initiative, as the region prepares for new ways of integrated working, enabled via WCCIS. The ability to work across organisational boundaries and with national organisations will be required.
Experience of formally planning and managing complex projects is essential.
This is a leading edge programme. This role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. Initial focus will require the successful candidate to develop a detailed project plan for the division, initiate the project and set-up the project team along with governance and control structures.
Key objectives will be:
- Strengthen regional governance arrangements and reporting structures
- Management of the regional WCCIS programme across Gwent ensuring delivery of national benefits
- Ensuring Local Authority & Health Board risks and issues are represented and escalated appropriately to national level
- Regional prioritisation of areas for service development / improvement in line with the availability of joint regional resources
- Identification of regional benefits and development of regional benefits realisation plan linking to local and national plans
- Potential future economic benefits: shared services, shared infrastructure, shared procurements
- Ensure effective communications are maintained
Region Note: People working outside Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) should discuss the potential for secondment with their current employer in the first instance. If you are successful in securing a secondment an agreement will be drawn up between ABUHB and your employer in accordance with the Secondment Policy. This will effectively recognise changes to pay, management arrangements, and any other pre-secondment agreements reached, but will maintain your other terms and conditions of employment
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
