An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team on a full time basis.
The Gwent Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs) Team is an independent safeguarding team commissioned by the Supervisory Bodies of the Five Gwent Local Authorities and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The team is based within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and located at Mamhilad House Mamhilad Park Estate, Pontypool. However, the successful candidate will be required and expected to work and travel across the whole of Greater Gwent and wider when necessary.
The Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards Team supports the Supervisory Bodies to meet their statutory obligations under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2009) (DoLS) by coordinating and undertaking assessments for submission to the Supervisory Body when a request for an authorisations for a Deprivation of Liberty is requested by a Managing Authority (Hospitals and Care Homes).
The Team work specifically with people who lack capacity to consent to their care and treatment arrangements, who require assessment to determine if their circumstances amount to a deprivation of liberty, and if such arrangements are required to be lawfully authorised in their best interests.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
