We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Head and Neck Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work within our Head and neck, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) and Maxillofacial Department. The successful post holder must be a Registered Nurse, with the qualifications, skills and experience who shares our ambition and vision to deliver excellence in patient care and will have a passionate desire to make a difference to our staff, patients and their families/carers.

The successful post holder will be an experienced practitioner who, acting within his/her professional boundaries, will become an integral part of the clinical management team, working autonomously and collaboratively with our multidisciplinary Head and Neck Support Team.

The post holder will act as a clinical expert in managing the surgical head and neck, ENT and Maxillofacial complex inpatients and complex airway head and neck inpatients (ENT and Maxillofacial) across hospital sites within the Health Board. They will provide specialist airway training and support for patients, carers, ward staff, district nurses and residential/nursing homes to build greater links between Primary and Secondary Care, allowing for greater patient self-management.

Working alongside medical, dental, nursing and allied multi-professional staff, the post holder will support our development of excellent services that are fit for the future, which is compliant with National programmes.

The post holder will act as a senior professional within the Department to practice Health Board, All Wales and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) policies, protocols, guidelines, Codes of Professional Conduct and corporate nursing agenda.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership, professional advice and facilitate the professional development of nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, patients and carers. The post holder promote excellence in clinical practice and will act as role model to all other staff, raising awareness, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making, monitoring and setting of standards, high levels of critical thinking and holistic practice - incorporating evidence based practice and current research.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:
