THESE POSTS ARE INITIALLY FIXED TERM UNTIL 31st MARCH 2021 DUE TO NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Bereavement Support Officer posts to support the development and roll out of the Bereavement Service to both the Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospitals.
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that newly bereaved relatives and carers are supported to collect the necessary documentation, personal effects and relevant information in a suitable format and in a timely and compassionate manner. They will sign post relatives to appropriate services and will gain feedback from relatives re their experiences.
These posts will primarily be based at either Royal Gwent Hospital or Nevil Hall Hospital however there may be a requirement for the successful applicants to provide support to other sites to meet the needs of the service.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
