We are seeking a Band 6 Dietitian to join the Public Health Nutrition and Dietetic Team for a fixed term position until end of June 2022. The post holder will be a highly skilled specialised practitioner under the direction of a senior dietitian supporting the community nutrition and dietetic education programme. This role will involve the Dietitian working in schools, communities, with families, groups and with carers across the age range from birth to older adults. This will involve having their own case load of clients and working with a wide range of organisations in a complex community environment. We are particularly seeking a practitioner with knowledge and experience in Paediatric Dietetics. 

This role provides a training and consultative approach to growing dietetic capacity in communities through assessment of needs, monitoring and quality assurance cycles and the development of community assets to facilitate improved public health nutrition status in the local population. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with communities, an understanding of the social determinants of health and of their impact on nutrition status and a high level of cultural competency to support the needs of a diverse population. The post holder will deliver services which fulfil the requirements of local and national policy drivers and  will work in accordance with the British Dietetic Association and HCPC codes of professional conduct and be registered as a Dietitian with the HCPC. This post is based in Victoria House, Corporation Road, Newport.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
