We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Maxillofacial (Max-Fax) Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work within our Head and neck, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) and Maxillofacial Department. The successful post holder must be a Registered Nurse, with the qualifications, skills and experience who shares our ambition and vision to deliver excellence in patient care and will have a passionate desire to make a difference to our staff, patients and their families/carers.

The successful post holder will be an experienced practitioner who, acting within his/her professional boundaries, will become an integral part of the clinical management team, working autonomously and collaboratively with our multidisciplinary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Team.

Working alongside medical, dental, nursing and allied multi-professional staff, the post holder will support our innovative development of excellent services, including taking a lead in the development and implementation of policy, national frameworks and quality improvement.

The post holder will act as a clinical expert in managing Maxillofacial patients across hospital sites within the Health Board and in the recognition and initial management of the deteriorating patient, to prevent further deterioration which may lead to a respiratory or cardiac event/arrest. The post holder will uses complex reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis on healthcare issues to aid assessment, clinical judgements, diagnostics (currently under guidance) and treatment decisions.

The post holder will act as a senior professional within the Department to practice Health Board, All Wales and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) policies, protocols, guidelines, Codes of Professional Conduct and corporate nursing agenda.

The post holder promote excellence in clinical practice and will act as role model to all other staff, raising awareness, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making, monitoring and setting of standards, high levels of critical thinking and holistic practice - incorporating evidence based practice and current research.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership, professional advice and facilitate the professional development to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, identifying own and others personal development needs and take effective action to address them.
