An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Gwent Hospital to develop as a Band 5 Emergency Care Staff Nurse. To be considered for this role you will need to be a registered paediatric nurse with an interest in Emergency Care Services.

The Royal Gwent Hospital ED is the largest in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. It provides a comprehensive 24 hour emergency care service for an expanding population of more than 140,000 people, including children. The department is divided into Majors, Minors, Paediatrics and Resuscitation. Emergency Nurse Practitioners support and lead nursing care within the Minors Unit. A nine bedded observation Short Stay Unit is also a vital facility staffed by the ED nurses on a rotational basis. We are looking to recruit dynamic nurses to join our friendly and resilient team who strive to deliver high quality emergency care to patients presenting with a broad spectrum of conditions. There is a comprehensive induction program with mentorship for your first year. We are committed to your continuing professional development which is underpinned by our in house educational program facilitated by the ED Practice Educator. Working in the ED is challenging, demanding and very rewarding, we will prepare you for a life long career as an Emergency Nurse.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
