Following additional investment to support Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s (ABUHB) Clinical Futures programme, the directorate is able to offer exciting opportunities for Band 5 Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly team.

The posts will be based at Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH) as part of the Pharmacy team. The successful candidates will be conscientious and adaptable individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidates must be enthusiastic and motivated, with an ability to multitask and work across several sections.

The role will be varied and provide broad experience across a number of areas, including acute wards, and dispensary. Candidates would ideally have previous experience of providing a medicines management service to a clinical area and hold an accredited checking technician qualification although we are happy to accept applications from individuals working towards these.

You must have a dispensing qualification – BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and be a registered technician with a GPhC Membership Number to apply for this post.

Whilst experience of working with a pharmacy robot and automated drug cabinets would be beneficial, training will be provided if necessary. The post holders will be involved in optimising the use of the pharmacy robot by having a good understanding of the system, being able to troubleshoot and participate in the daily/weekly maintenance schedule.
