 Band 5 Advert-Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 5) to join our existing team on Pillmawr at St Cadocs Hospital, Newport. We are looking for an RNMH who has commitment to working within the specialism of Forensic Rehabilitation and is innovative and enthusiastic, who can demonstrate an enthusiasm for the on going development of the service and who has a particular interest in psychological therapies and implementing groups.

 

Our service provides a comprehensive and holistic care for patients who require a step down from medium and low secure or who have challenging behaviours and would benefit from a protracted period of rehabilitation. The unit consists of a 13 bedded staffed rehabilitation ward and 2  3 bedded houses one of which has staff throughout the day and evening and 1 for those individuals who are more able to function independently. You will need to possess good clinical knowledge and have an interest in working with individuals with complex mental health needs and be able to demonstrate an understanding of issues relating to this patient group. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person centred care, contributing to the development and shaping of care delivery in accordance with national and local policy. You should have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers and other professionals.

 

An understanding of risk management and the CTP process is expected. You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery, for this challenging and rewarding patient group.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, English and/or Welsh speaker are equally welcome to apply.
