An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Corporate Finance Team at Aneurin Bevan Health Board as Head of Systems & Governance. The Health Board has a reputation for high standards of financial governance and this role is key to maintaining and enhancing this. You will join a highly regarded team with a reputation for excellence and innovation. The Systems Team is well advanced in developing the use of Robotics and this post will play a key role in this as well as supporting the widening of the digital capability within Finance.
You will be a qualified accountant with significant experience of a range of financial systems and managing teams. We are looking for a high performing individual with a passion for using digital technology to support new and better ways of working within the finance community. You will possess excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders at the Health Board and beyond. A team player, you will play a full part in the Corporate Finance Team and develop effective networks with the whole finance department here at the Health Board.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is one of the largest and busiest in the UK with acute hospitals at Newport, Abergavenny and Ystrad Mynach, supported by community hospitals and extensive community, general practices, mental health and learning disability services. The Board has three acute hospitals and twelve other hospitals. The Grange University Hospital, the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre, and is due to start receiving patients from 2021. It has over 13,000 staff, including over 1,000 doctors and general practitioners, 250 consultants and a nursing staff of more than 5,000. The annual turnover of the organisation is £1.3bn.
The finance department actively promotes a range of development opportunities and works closely with the NHS Wales Finance Academy in developing staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
