Clinical Lead- Nursing

The Primary and Community Care Division are seeking to recruit a visionary, forward thinking, and innovative nurse leader to drive forward the transformation of nursing services across primary care. At the forefront of a dynamic division, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, senior nurse to take up the position of our very first Clinical Lead for Nursing.

You will work within and alongside the Primary Care Operational Support Team, GP Practices and wider nursing directorate advising on the development of Primary Care nursing services and provide advanced clinical services across Primary Care/GP Practices. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care at an advanced level and supporting the development of GP Practice Nurses.

You will need to possess exceptional nursing skills and advanced levels of clinical judgement, knowledge and experience. You will be able to make critical clinical judgements and decisions in circumstances where a precedent may not exist enhancing quality in all areas of assessment, diagnosis, management and evaluation, delivering improved outcomes for patients/clients and extending the parameters of your field of practice.

The post requires a portfolio of career-long learning and development including both advanced level clinical experience and formal education. The portfolio will include research experience, scholarship and some evidence of publication or dissemination/sharing of learning and expertise as well as extensive clinical experience and expertise. The Clinical Lead (Nursing) will have a minimum of a Masters’ Degree.

Working closely with the Deputy Medical Director, Clinical Director, Associate Director of Nursing and Head of Primary Care, the Clinical Lead (Nursing) will utilise specialist knowledge and expertise to plan and deliver strategic plans for the future reconfiguration of Primary Care services across the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board geographical area.
