This new specialist nurse position is a very welcome addition to the dedicated team of HCP's supporting adult patients on long term artificial nutrition support in the community.
The successful applicant will be key member of the adult multi-disciplinary Community Home Enteral Feeding Team (HEF) and will provide specialist nursing support for patients requiring enteral nutrition in the community and Care Home settings. They will be the primary HEF team member to provide pre-gastrostomy insertion assessment and will deliver expert clinical advice to support the nursing staff, patients and carers of patients with gastrostomy feeding tubes; including the removal or replacement of balloon or traction-removable gastrostomy feeding tubes in adult patients.
As a member of the HEF team they will assist in development, implementation and monitoring of UHB, professional and departmental standards, policies and procedures. A key aspect of the role will be to provide education and training in nutrition support practices for all healthcare professionals with clinical responsibility for patients receiving enteral support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
