We are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled clinician who is experienced in inpatient rehabilitation and discharge planning.

You need to be a strong team player who is self-motivated and forward thinking with sound clinical reasoning skills. You will have demonstrable leadership qualities and excellent communication skills with proven abilities to link with multi-disciplinary teams, agencies, families and carers. Possessing a solid foundation in core clinical skills you will embrace innovation and be committed to following evidence based clinical practice.

Based within the Rehabilitation Inpatient Team at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan (YAB), and supported by a Team Lead Physiotherapist, the post holder will provide specialist clinical assessment and input to the rehabilitation wards at YAB with a focus on the Nurse-led Discharge Ward. This ward is a pro-active, multi-disciplinary ward and the post holder will provide assessment, interventions and support to facilitate early discharge home. This will include attendance at daily hub meetings.

The Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development through local and Health Board wide in-service training programmes across different specialities, as well as participation in speciality forums, clinical audit, research and clinical supervision and mentoring.

We have a structured personal appraisal system with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework. You will be actively involved in assisting in the education and mentoring of rotational staff and physiotherapy students whilst on placement from Cardiff University.
