Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) Learning Disability Directorate are seeking a motivated, confident and compassionate Clinical Psychologist for our inpatient assessment and treatment unit, Ty Lafant, for people with learning disabilities who present with significant behaviours that challenge and/or complex mental health difficulties.
The role of the Clinical Psychologist will be to provide clinical leadership and psychological expertise to Ty Lafant, Assessment & Treatment Unit. This post also involves taking a lead role in service improvements in inpatient services for adults with a learning disability and contributing to Directorate strategies to improve the psychological well-being of adults with a learning disability. The post holder must have significant experience of working with adults with a learning disability who present with behaviours that challenge and demonstrate leadership skills, innovative thinking and expertise.
You will be joining the ABUHB Learning Disability Psychological Services which is a well respected, creative and supportive service which includes Clinical Psychologists and Arts Therapists. Continuing Professional Development is highly valued and there will be opportunities to develop special interests and pursue research. We have strong links with the South Wales Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
