IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST

We have a full time fixed term contract available until end of May 2019. We are in a position to recruit to this post at either Band 7 or Band 8A depending on the applicants skills, knowledge and experience as outlined in the Person Specification for each banding.

The post is for an enthusiastic and creative individual who is keen to work within a Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) to provide a psychological service to adults with a learning disability.

Our Learning Disability Psychological Service consists of qualified Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and Art, Music and Drama Therapists. Both the CLDT and the Psychological service provide a friendly, supportive and creative working environment. The service is highly valued by health, local authority and other agencies and plays a lead role in teaching, training, consultation and service development.

You must have experience and a background in working with people with a learning disability within a multidisciplinary context. You should demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high quality person centred care for this client group. You must be prepared to work in to Torfaen CLDT as your main base but be prepared to contribute to the psychological service provided within another team for up to one day per week as required based on service need.

We demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, supervision, peer support, developing special interests and research opportunities.

There are regular opportunities to have contact with other Clinical Psychology colleagues within the organisation. We also have close links with the South Wales Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology.

South East Wales is an excellent area to live offering beautiful countryside and easy access to Bristol and Cardiff.
