Job overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is looking to recruit GP’s into the role of Quality Improvement Practitioners in Gwent to work within our multi-professional teams, both in GP practices and Urgent Primary Care.


Our Primary Care team include GP’s, practice based Mental Health Workers, Nurse Practitioners, etc. The Job Planning will be flexible and responsive to your individual circumstances, participation in quality improvement projects will be supported by two sessions in addition to your CPD session.

We can offer a range of flexible working options, a competitive remuneration package based towards the top end of the BMA GP contract with additional incentive payments and further allowances for GP’s with specialist skills and experience, you will be encouraged to develop your own portfolio of interests within the practice supported by the Lead GP.  You will be given protected time for personal CPD.

Main duties of the job

These posts provide a unique opportunity for GP’s who wish to combine clinical practice with protected time for personal and professional development. We are offering a package of 6 clinical, 1 CPD and 2 Quality Improvement sessions per week. Objectives and workplan will be mutually agreed with the Lead GP and you will be provided with mentoring and support as required.

You will be working with communities in the South Wales valleys within commuting distance of Cardiff, with easy access to the beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park and all the activities the area has to offer.
