PATIENT FLOW CO-ORDINATOR

NEVILL HALL HOSPITAL 

The Emergency Care Division is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a particular interest in process and patient flow to work in our busy but friendly Emergency Department at Nevill hall Hospital.

The Primary role of the patient flow co-ordinator is to monitor the patient flow and ensure that the 4 hour transit is achieved.

The post holder will form part of the multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Department working closely with all disciplines to ensure that patient flow through the department is effective, efficient and complies with the Welsh Assembly Government four hour transit standard.

The successful applicants with have a key influence in achieving performance against Welsh Assembly Government standards. The role is crucial to the effective management of patient flow within the Emergency Department. Communication between the Nurse in Charge and the PFC is vital to enable the Emergency department to be effectively and pro-actively managed.

The role will require the successful applicants to be flexible and have an understanding of patient pathways and clinical administration systems in place such as Symphony and CWS.

The role is often busy and challenging. It is vital that the post holder works in conjunction with the other team members and also the Emergency Department team, supporting staff to deliver an excellent service at all times.

The emergency care directorate is a friendly team, which will include: Nursing staff, Consultants, admin staff, medical staff and management. We are looking for confident and enthusiastic individuals to join the team and undertake this exiting vacancy. We are looking for individuals that work well under pressure and enjoy working with people. We are also looking for the successful applicants to have excellent communication skills, customer service skills and the ability to organise and prioritise work load.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
