Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Pre-Operative Assessment Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse wishing to utilise and further develop their skills and knowledge in a fast paced environment.

The Pre Assessment Nurses role is essential to ensure that patients who require surgery are supported, well informed in relation to the planned surgery, pre and post operative care and that their pathway is as efficient as possible.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a full fitness for surgery health assessment, planning individual patient care in relation to elective surgery and Anaesthetic working within guidelines and PGD's agreed locally and liasing with the multidisciplinary team. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a full fitness for surgery health assessment, planning individual patient care in relation to elective surgery and Anaesthetic working within guidelines and PGD's agreed locally and liasing with the multidisciplinary team.

The person must be a Registered Nurse and will need to have excellent communication skills

Knowledge of Orthopaedic nursing would be advantageous however training can be given to the successful candidate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
